The school year is fast coming to an end, but teachers are not slowing down. They're making sure their students are ready for next year. One South Carolina teacher is making sure her students have all the tools for success.

Elizabeth Goodwin teaches second grade class at Okatie Elementary School. She says being a teacher is her own happy ending.

"This is just like a dream job, and I have the best class ever," she told us.

Goodwin has been teaching for 15 years and says the students keep her energized in the classroom. "You can ask the kids, I tend to jump up and down. I get so passionate that they understand and it all starts to come together."

Student Scottie House told us, "She loves us and she's a really good teacher."

Goodwin says her goal is to help her students become good citizens and to keep their imagination and passion for learning alive. "It's a learning process through your whole life. And I want to instill in them a love to doing that. That's the most important thing."

Elizabeth Goodwin, this week's WTOC Top Teacher.
