CEMA: Four-step plan for re-entry into the city

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Chatham Emergency Management Agency has a four-phase plan for re-entry into the city once the storm is over.

There are four phases to "re-opening the City", according to Dennis Jones at CEMA.

  1. Rendering the area safe: Emergency Personnel & Public Safety only.
  2. Essential Services rendered/Making sure utilities and more are working properly: Public Works & General Contractor only
  3. Residents and Business Owners: You must live or own a business in Chatham County. You need an ID/Lease Agreement/Property Deed showing this.
  4. General public allowed back.

The time frame on this obviously depends on the scope of damage from the storm.
