Verizon offering unlimited talk, text and data for areas affected by Hurricane Matthew

GEORGIA (WTOC) -

Verizon Wireless has announced it will be providing unlimited talk, text and data to qualified areas in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina from Oct. 7 through Oct. 11 due to the effects of Hurricane Matthew.

Customers will automatically qualify if they are residents of the counties listed.

Verizon Wireless customers who wish to help with Hurricane Matthew Relief efforts, via mobile phone, can donate by texting 80100 with the word "MATTHEW". Customers will receive a text response asking them to confirm the $10 donation. By texting their billing zip code, the user agrees to the terms and conditions.

    The Chatham County police department graduated five recruits on Friday. As a part of their commencement, they are taking part in community projects.
