Many people in the Coastal Empire and other military communities will spend a tense night waiting for the base realignment and closure (BRAC) list. A report comes out tomorrow that outlines which military installations will be recommended for closure.
People in Hinesville and Liberty County await the report. Many feel closures elsewhere will bring troops and resources here. But none take that for granted.
"We're cautiously optimistic about everything," said business owner Barbara Meador. "We're thinking if anything it will grow but there's always that chance when dealing with the government that it could affect us big time."
The report is expected to contain almost a thousand pages with detailed information about what troops and resources will be relocated and to where.
