CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - Children, parents, businesses and community leaders came together at Savannah's Grayson Stadium for the "Lights On After School" rally.
The event, hosted by the 21st Century Community Learning Center, celebrates the achievements of afterschool students.
In Georgia, nearly one million children participate in those programs.
"Here in Savannah, we are the largest 21st Century after school provider in Georgia. We actually have 20 sites. We serve about 2,000 kids each and every day," said 21st Century Community Learning Center Director Aldric Dekle.
The Savannah Learning Center focuses on helping students struggling with reading and math. For more information on the program, please click here.
