SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Several local community development groups are looking to take to Savannah's streets to help neighborhoods realize their full potential.
The Roving Listener walks are all about asset-based community development.
Organizers will encourage walk participants to notice resources within each neighborhood and what residents have to offer for the betterment of the community.
"The idea is that instead of sort of looking at the deficits we have as a community, we try to build on what assets that we have," said Courtnay Papy, with Emergent Savannah.
"It would seem like anytime people notice that they have the capacity, rather than they feel they have some kind of limitation, it seems like that makes people feel better about themselves," said Tom Kohler, with Chatham-Savannah Citizen Academy.
The first walk will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Twickenham neighborhood.
