Former Vidalia police officer pleads not guilty to rape accusations

VIDALIA, GA (WTOC) -

A former Vidalia police officer appeared in court to refute an accusation of statutory rape.

Former officer, Jeremy Achenbach, entered a not guilty plea after a grand jury indicted him earlier this month.

Achenbach was arrested in April 2015 on a charge he had a relationship with a 15-year-old girl and resigned amid suspension.

No word on when a trial will be scheduled. We will keep you updated.
