Organizers begin 23rd annual Holiday Helpers at GSU tree

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - It may not feel like the holidays outside, but the season of giving has already started at Georgia Southern.

Organizers kicked off their 23rd annual Holiday Helpers tree. The ornaments carry gift ideas for needy people in the community who are served through one of the several agencies.

Students, faculty and staff can pick one of 800 ornaments and sign up to bring back a gift for that person.

"When we have so many families in need and we have so much here to offer, it doesn't make sense not to join forces to help people have the kind of holidays we all want," said Coordinator Paige Dixon.

You can sign out a tag weekdays between now and November 18. Bring back gifts by November 30.
