CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Fort Pulaski National Monument is open after being closed for 28 days due to damage from Hurricane Matthew.

The staff at Fort Pulaski welcomed the public back to the park on Friday.

Due to ongoing recovery efforts and as a safety precaution, they say access inside the fort is restricted to ranger guided tours only.

Most trails are open. The Lighthouse trail, however, is closed indefinitely.
