SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - It's a delicious dinner for a great cause.
For the past six years, local non-profit Liam's Land has hosted a pasta dinner before the Rock n' Roll Marathon to help runners get ready for the big day, and to raise money for lymphatic malformation research.
"It's reaching out to the runners and to the local community. It's very family oriented. But it's also raising awareness for vascular anomalies and for lymphatic malformation. And we've been able, over the course of these years, to give over $100,000 to medical research grants," said Liam's Land Executive Director Janet Steffen.
Steffen says runners started lining up at the door as soon as the dinner began, looking to carbo-load before the big race Saturday.
