SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Skidaway Island State Park reopened on Tuesday after Hurricane Matthew swept through the area last month.
Although park staff spent the past weeks cleaning up debris, they say no major facilities were damaged.
Campsites and cabins are open and available for this weekend.
Visitors can enjoy most sections of the park's scenic walking trails. The park also offers birding, bike rental, a nature center, playground and more.
Some reconstruction is still being done to boardwalks, but you should hear minimal noise from equipment.
The enclosed group shelter and open-air picnic shelters are also open for reunions and parties.
