CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - We're getting a closer look at just how many structures were damaged by Matthew-related flooding.
The Chatham County Engineering Department met with residents Tuesday at the Frank Murray Community Center.
According to new FEMA maps, five structures were damaged in the City of Savannah. Three on Tybee Island and nine in Garden City.
In unincorporated parts of the county, though, the number sits at 215.
"It just shows general areas, not specific addresses, but it does give an idea of where we need to start focusing our efforts as far as performing mitigation activities," said Chatham County Flood Plan Administrator Michael Blakely.
The number of flood-damaged structures is still a rough estimate. It could go up by the end of the year.
