SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Santa made his big debut Friday afternoon on River Street, with dozens lining up to catch a glimpse of the jolly old elf.
It's all part of Savannah Riverboat Cruise's Sailing with Santa Charity Cruise.
It's the 25th year for the cause, which aims to gather toy donations while giving families a chance to take a one and a half hour sightseeing with Santa.
"It's just the most wonderful time of the year. You see the kids' faces light up when they see Santa waving from the shoreline, parents rushing them to the shore to get a glimpse of Santa. I get older, the kids stay the same age," said Savanah Riverboat Cruises Capt. Carl Thornton.
Santa will be back on River Street on Saturday at noon, and again on December 3.
Children sail free with the donation of a new, unwrapped gift that will be donated to charity.
