SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Friends, family, colleagues and more came together to honor fallen Master Firefighter Michael Curry.
His visitation and wake were held Friday night at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home in Savannah.
He died due to "a dissecting aneurysm" during a rescue operation on River Street last Saturday.
Many who attended the ceremony say that he not only was a superb firefighter but that he was an outstanding member of his community too.
"The viewing and the wake this evening was really a testament to how he lived. How he lived was that he touched lives. Not only in his fire service family but in his cub scouts and in his church and in the community as a whole," said Savannah Professional Firefighters President Robert L. Milie II.
