SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A driver has been arrested and charged with DUI, among other charges, after a hit-and-run wreck on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Savannah.
At approximately 10:06 p.m., a White Silverado was traveling northbound on the southbound lanes of MLK. A red mustang was traveling west on 37th toward I-16.
The driver of the truck ran the red light and hit the red Mustang in the driver side door. The driver of the truck got out and ran, according to Georgia State Patrol.
Officers were able to apprehend 26-year-old Matthew Brantley at 36th and Burroughs.
He is charged with DUI, driving with license suspended, no seat belt, failure to maintain lane, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of open container, driving on the wrong side, improper U-turn, hit and run, running a red light and failure to yield.
The woman driving the red car is in the hospital with unknown injuries. She had to be cut out of the car.
GSP is handling the investigation.
