Donations for wildfire victims being collected in Statesboro

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Along with making donations to the American Red Cross, Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro hopes to collect bottled water, non-perishable food and toiletries to give to one community outside Pigeon Forge.

Donations will be accepted on both Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home, 502 Miller St Ext., and at Bulloch Memorial Gardens, 22002 US Highway 80 E.

    Memorial Day weekend is in full effect, which means that law enforcement is out in full force. The Department of Natural Resources is also stressing safety throughout the weekend.  Officers say that they'll be cracking down on the usual charges, such as those not wearing seatbelts, or drinking and driving.
