Shooting under investigation at Greenwood, Nevada streets in East Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a shooting in the area of Greenwood and Nevada streets in East Savannah Thursday morning.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police tweeted that one adult male was shot at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday morning near the intersection of Greenwood and Nevada streets. He was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Nearby Savannah High was placed on lockdown immediately after the shooting occurred, but the lockdown has since been lifted.

Reportedly occupants in a gold Chevy Impala fired shots at occupants of a silver Pontiac. Landon Saturday, 19, the driver of the Pontiac, attempted to flee but wrecked the vehicle shortly after.

Investigators are searching for a newer model gold Impala and silver Pontiac. Investigators are also working to determine the actual events that led to this incident.
