An early-morning shooting prompted by a possible domestic dispute has led to Savannah's latest homicide. About 3am, Savannah-Chatham police were called to a house on Chevy Chase Road in the Cloverdale subdivision for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man in the back of the house suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical crews checked the victim, but found he was dead.
The family of the woman who lives in the house tells us the victim, who is a former boyfriend of that woman, had broken a window in her house yesterday and threatened her life. Another man was in the house with the woman and her two children, when witnesses say they heard glass break and a gunshot.
It appears the man in the house shot the former boyfriend. He was taken into custody and will be questioned by detectives who will determine what charges will be filed.
The body will be taken to the GBI crime lab. The name of the victim and suspect have not yet been released.
