Officers Help Round Up Cows on the Loose

We've heard of deer in the road scaring motorists and causing accidents, but what about a much bigger animal? Like cows. A herd of cows was spotted walking on Ferguson Avenue in front of the Bethesda Home for Boys about 2am this morning.

Two Savannah-Chatham police officers went to help when a passerby called police with the information.

The cows belong to Bethesda, and the cow taker says the bovines just wanted to feel what it was like to be free for a while.

The officers helped herd the animals, and the cows were led back into their pasture as the improvised round-up ended.

Just another night on the beat for the Savannah-Chatham police.
