Those bones crews from Savannah Electric found in Thunderbolt yesterday may not be 250 years old, but they sure are old.
Thunderbolt police say the crews were digging to fix underground power lines when they found the bones. A forensic anthropologist, who spent a good part of the afternoon excavating the site, says the bones are from a male and are likely at least 60 years old, perhaps older.
Investigators originally thought the bones may be from an ancient Indian burial mound. The forensic anthropologist has taken the bones to Atlanta for analysis.
Thunderbolt police are treating this case as a homicide until they learn more about the bones.
