Carey Hilliard’s employee awarded new car for years of service

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Carey Hilliard's recognized some of its most dedicated workers on Wednesday.

Folks working there for 20, 30 and 40 years each received special plaques. But for one 45-year employee, a special surprise.

"I don't have a check for you today.But I have a brand new car!"

That's Barbara Harp! She started working at the Skidaway Road restaurant in 1971. Now, she delights diners on Abercorn Street.

Wednesday, Harp was awarded a brand new Honda Accord for her tireless dedication to the company.

"Well, now my granddaughter can have my car, her car. I've been driving her car. And I can have one," said Harp.

"She is the reason why we are a great company. People like her helping us out on our team. It's amazing because Barbara has regulars that come in to our restaurant just to eat with her," said Carey Hilliard's Marketing Director T.J. Hilliard.

We'd like to congratulate Barbara and the other hard workers recognized Wednesday: Cindy Brown, Margaret Hodges and Debra Porter.
