SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A Savannah man was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 14. for making threats to law enforcement officers through phone calls to the Emergency Communications Center.

The Emergency Communications Center received several calls on Tuesday from an unidentified caller making threats to law enforcement. In on call, the caller threatened to kill officers, according to the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department.

The calls were traced back to a residence on the 100 block of Millen Street. Robert Williams, 57, was identified as the resident.

Due to the threat to law enforcement, officers conducted surveillance of the home before utilizing SWAT Team members to serve a search warrant on the home. The phone that made the calls was located inside the residence.

"I instructed my personnel to find this guy, find out if he was the one that was making the threats. And if he was, bring the full weight of the criminal justice system to bear on him and put him in jail by the end of the day. They did that,” said Maj. Richard Zapal, with SCMPD.
