SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - You may want to grab the tissues.
A first-grade girl in Savannah got the surprise of a lifetime and her number one Christmas wish was granted early.
Sergeant Tyree Lasseter of the U.S. Army was deployed for the third time in January to South Korea, but he was able to come back home to Savannah early to surprise his 6-year-old daughter Tanijah at her school.
As soon as Tanijah saw her dad walk through the door, she ran into his arms completely shocked.
We spoke to Sergeant Lasseter just before the big moment.
'I'm good now until I see her and that's when I start crying, as of now I'm good but when I see her that might be a different situation," said Sgt. Lasseter.
Sgt. Lasseter says the first thing they'll do together is shop for a Christmas tree.
