CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - Paula Deen is doing her part to make Christmas merrier for a group of people who were hit hard by Hurricane Matthew.
Monday, she sent a truck full of her cookware sets to the Westlake Apartments in Chatham County, to give to the families that lost their homes due to the storm.
"She sent the truck and the guys and everyone out to help make sure these guys have a good Christmas, and she says she wants them to put it to work. Put those pots and pans to work," said Hollis Johnson, works for Paula Deen.
"Just getting the stuff that we weren't expecting after losing everything. To actually have people that actually care and try to help get you through the holidays, it's a blessing," said Westlake resident Shamekia Wright.
The truck was loaded up with a cookware set for each of the 55 families that had to leave their homes due to the hurricane back in October.
