SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah firefighters are helping to brighten the Christmas season for children served by Savannah's Greenbriar Children's Center.

Firefighters delivered toys to the center Monday that were donated to the department by the local Wingmen Motorcycle Club and Abate organizations.

"It's easy this time of year to focus on your own family and own problems. You tend to forget what the rest of the community is going through who are less fortunate,” said Savannah Fire and Emergency Services Capt. Steven Emberton.

"They want to make a difference in the life of a child and not take for granted a gift under the tree. This will bring joy and lots of smiles on Christmas morning,” said Greenbriar Executive Director Gena Taylor.

The toys were collected earlier this month at the 28th annual Savannah Toy Run.

Greenbriar provides emergency shelter, homeless-runaway assistance, residential care and more.
