POOLER, GA (WTOC) -

The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force held a day camp for students just before the holidays, Tuesday afternoon.

With students out of school, the museum is holding the three-day camp of holidays on the World War II homefront fun. The children have been learning what children their age did for fun during the time frame. The Director of Education for the museum explains what they have been doing.

"It's amazing how much fun they will have, and I'll say can you believe that you had all that fun with some cotton balls to make snow? Wow! You're right! So, that's really kind of what the purpose of doing it all is to you know harken back to an - I don't want to say a simpler time - because it was very hard time - that was going on, but was just, you know, appreciating what you have," said Heather Thies, Director of Education, Mighty Eighth.

The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force offers day camps regularly throughout the year, including in the summer months.
