BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) - Two wrecks have occurred on the Broad River Bridge in just two days.
The first wreck was Sunday at 9:30 p.m. It was a single-vehicle accident on the northbound lane of the bridge.
Burton Fire tells WTOC that SC Highway Patrol took the female driver into custody. They closed one northbound lane for about 30 minutes while they collected evidence.
The next wreck was just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, also in the northbound lane of the Broad River Bridge. A vehicle and a pickup truck collided.
Firefighters had to cut the driver out of the the vehicle. They were taken to Beaufort Memorial hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This is the sixth wreck Burton Fire has responded to on the Broad River Bridge so far this year, many caused by stalled vehicles.
