Ronald McDonald House receives donation from the Savannah Mustang Club

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Ronald McDonald House of the Coastal Empire received a huge donation Tuesday night from the Savannah Mustang Club.

A check for nearly $5,000 was presented to the charity.

The donation history dates back to 1989, when the Mustang Club was established. Each year, members organize three car shows. Two over the summer and one in the fall.

Proceeds from all three go towards different charities at the end of the year.

"We take the funds in, run our club, anything we have left over beyond expenses is donated to charities," said Savannah Mustang Club President Emory Aspinwall.

"We can't do it without the support of the community both in donations of financial and in kind and also volunteering. So without this community, which is very strong and philanthropic, we don't exist," said Ronald McDonald House of the Coastal Empire Executive Director Bill Sorochak.

One hundred percent of the donation will go towards the Ronald McDonald House and its mission to helping critically ill children and their families all around the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
