SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Chatham County Superior Court Judge John Morse, Jr. was sworn in for another term.

Morse serves on the Eastern Judicial Circuit.

Wednesday, he was sworn in by Justice Robert Benham of Georgia's Supreme Court.

The Savannah native was first appointed to Chatham County's Superior Court in 1995.

"Having the most number of votes cast in a contested race was humbling as well. It meant that the people took it seriously with respect to this particular office and therefore I'm grateful with respect to that verification and validation of what I've been doing for over 20 years,” said Judge Morse.

For the last five years, Judge Morse has also served as the Administrative Judge for the 1st Administrative District of Georgia.
