Art Camp in Savannah

Art camp is keeping kids in Savannah busy this week. The Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs is offering everything from drawing and painting to ceramics and dramatic exercises like tai-chi.

It's an eight-week program, and camp director Lara Hoffman says, whether you're four or 14, it's truly an enriching experience.

"During summertime, a lot of kids watch TV or play lots of video games," said Hoffman. "We really try to expand on the other part of the brain, the creative part that makes it all work together correctly."

Art camp is all booked up for next week, but spaces are available for the last six weeks of the program. For more information or to register call 651.4248 or visit and click on "Cultural Affairs."
