Tuition Hike Expected at USC

Going to school at the University of South Carolina might soon cost you more. The university is expected to increase its tuition by almost 12 percent.

That means if you live in South Carolina and want to go to USC, it will cost about $379 more a semester. Out-of-state students will pay about a thousand dollars more.

The money will go toward hiring new faculty, which will help reduce class, size and the university will be able to give out more scholarships.

The increase will generate about $18 million at the university's main campus in Columbia, South Carolina.
