MCINTOSH CO., GA (WTOC) - McIntosh County Academy principal, Barry Lollis, is in the process of being fired.
McIntosh County Superintendent John Barge says the school board voted to follow through with the termination of Lollis' contract. Technically, since he is under contract, he is now suspended with pay pending the outcome of a Fair Dismissal Hearing.
There's no word specifically on the reason for his being fired, but last September, Lollis was transferred from McIntosh County Academy to an alternative school after he discovered improper spending and investigated player hazing on the football team.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed they have an active investigation into possible hazing and child neglect at the school. The GBI was interviewing players and coaches.
There's no word on if the GBI investigation is complete.
