BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) - A new industry to bring more jobs to Bulloch County.
Local developers and the owners of WL Plastics celebrated their formal opening earlier this year. County leaders finalized the deal last May and the company was up and running in late January.
The company makes plastic pipes of all widths and sizes and employs 40 people now. Community leaders say mid-size companies help strengthen their economy.
"It helps with the diversity of the manufacturing economy that we have here. It helps with workforce development. It helps us spread out any risk from a business that's here. This is a perfect project for our community," said Benjy Thompson, Bulloch County Development Authority.
The plant starts with 40 jobs, but Thompson says the company hopes to have 20 more in the future.
