Coastal Heritage Society gets mobile museum

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Coastal Heritage Society received a big gift from Coca-Cola of Savannah on Friday.

Coke gave the local nonprofit a large cargo van that will serve as a mobile museum. The museum on wheels will help the society to deliver an even better experience outreach - away from its many museums across the area.

"This is going to allow us to take the stories and experiences from the museums into schools, community centers, and reach audience members we may not otherwise be able to reach," said Sandra Baxter, CEO Coastal Heritage Society.

The Coastal Heritage Society includes the Georgia State Railroad Museum, Old Fort Jackson, Pin Point Heritage Museum, Savannah Children's Museum and Savannah History Museum.
