SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Some local elementary school students are moving in the right direction when it comes to planning for the future.

Students at Southwest Elementary School in Savannah got to tour "Careers on Wheels" Friday.

Professionals from different career fields - including television news - brought their mobile workstations to the school. Students got to check our WTOC Jamie Casino Traffic Tracker, got to see a fire truck, an ambulance and even a police car.

"I think it gives them a realistic picture of what they can actually do. They get so excited - 'A cop car, I can drive one of those one day' - and getting the little pieces of information, I think it helps turns dreams into reality,” said counseling intern, Emily Neff.

Some future journalists and police officers in the making!
