SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - There's a new acting U.S. Attorney in Savannah after Attorney General Jeff Sessions calls for the resignations of all Obama-era appointees.
Among them, Edward Tarver. Tarver was appointed U.S. Attorney for the 43-county Southern District of Georgia in 2009.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney James Durham has been appointed acting U.S. Attorney in the wake of Tarver's resignation. A permanent successor has not been named.
Despite the turnover, Durham tells us initiatives like "End Gun Violence" will not be affected.
