COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

"Ordinary women are doing extraordinary things" was the theme of a luncheon earlier Saturday in Columbia that was put on by the Blindspot Art Foundation.

Jennifer Pinckney, the widow of the late Senator Clementa Pinckney, was the keynote speaker.

The 'Women's on the Move' event honored a number of women who are achieving or have achieved in their fields.

One of them is Ethel Dike Greene, the first female officer for the Columbia Police Department.

"In 1973, I relocated back home to South Carolina, and I became the first female patrolwoman with the city of Columbia," Greene said. "I had experience in DC as a policewoman, a patrol woman."
