COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Dairy Queen is giving away ice cream cones Monday to celebrate the first day of Spring.

All locations are participating, except for Dairy Queen’s that are inside malls.

If you're in Columbus, you can stop by the Macon Road and Whittlesey Boulevard locations.

You can get one small vanilla cone for free. In exchange, Dairy Queen is asking for a donation for local children's hospitals.

"This is the third year we are doing it. First year was busy, the second was steady. This year they are doing it on spring break so we are expecting more kids and parents to come and get the free cone," said Vasim Momin Macon Rd. Dairy Queen owner.

Last year, Dairy Queen raised $200,000 nationwide.
