Autopsy Scheduled in Suspicious Death

Savannah-Chatham police are looking for answers in what they're calling a suspicious death. About noon Saturday, someone walking in the 900 block of East Henry Street in Savannah spotted the body of young man lying near a car in a vacant lot.

When officers arrived, they discovered the man was dead. They're not yet saying how he died, but detectives say they found enough evidence at the scene to suspect foul play.

The victim is identified as 18-year-old Julius Baker, a recent graduate of Beach High School. He was a member of the ROTC program and police say he was planning to join the Army soon.

An autopsy is scheduled for today at the GBI crime lab.

There are still no suspects in the death. Detectives are asking Baker's classmates and anyone else who knew him and might know the circumstances of his death to call CrimeStoppers at 234.2020.
