TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - Tybee Island City Council is set to meet Thursday. On the agenda, North Beach Bar and Grill.
In August, the restaurant's lease with the city was up. The city opened a bid on the restaurant because of a law requiring them to do so.
Although there were some difficulties, the current and long-time business owners could retain the lease. They tell us for the last few months, they have been going through negotiations to come up with a new lease that works for them and the city.
It will be voted on Thursday.
"There were some stressful moments. I think it put us at odds with the city at times and the city at odds with us and that's not the kind of relationship you want. I'm glad to see that can be kind of swept away. Not swept under the rug, but swept out to sea," said North Beach Bar & Grill co-owner, George Spriggs.
The council meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
