SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - We saw this happen last month with the Stage on Bay, some residents in one Savannah neighborhood are divided about a new business in the community.
The Metropolitan Planning Commission City of Savannah Board of Appeals met Thursday, and one of the items on the agenda was a property on East 41st Street. The use approval for a bar, nightclub or tavern was ultimately continued until next month's meeting.
Many local business owners and residents for and against the new bar showed up to voice their opinion.
"What happened is at the hearing the petitioner asked for a continuance based on a consideration of the staff report. staff report was for denial," said Virginia Mobley, a Thomas Square resident.
The next meeting will be April 27.
