Former Lancaster track coach accused of sexual assault found not guilty

The trial of the a Lancaster, South Carolina track coach accused of sexual assault in Beaufort County has come to a conclusion.

Tyger Ingram, 32, who was facing two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 16 was found not guilty on Thursday.

This comes after days of the defense and prosecution walking the jury through dozens of pages of text messages and call logs displaying the relationship between Ingram and the student. Ingram also took the stand himself on Wednesday to defend his actions.

The former assistant track coach was tried in Beaufort County General Sessions Court because the alleged incident took place in Hilton Head Island where the track team was competing. 

Ingram is no longer affiliated with the track team. The alleged incident took place in 2015.
