Screven Co. EMA director preparing for Wednesday's severe weather threat

SCREVEN CO., GA (WTOC) - The Screven County EMA director says his team is prepared for the threat of severe weather Wednesday following January's tornado.

Homes sustained damage, even Screven County High School's auditorium was damaged. The side of one fire station was completely ripped off as well.

Benjamin Tapley has only been on the job for a few weeks now, but tells us his team is ready to handle anything.

"It's one of those things where it's hard to put your lives on hold just because the weather may be bad, but the best thing to do is just be aware of your surroundings wherever you're at, whether it's at home, or at work or on the roads," said Screven County Fire Chief and EMA Director Benjamin Tapley.

If you need to call to Screven County's EMA Wednesday for damage reports or assistance, contact the agency at 912.564.2709.
