POOLER, GA (WTOC) - If you've been wondering about the huge plot of land being cleared near the intersection of I-16 and Pooler Parkway, we have some new details for you.
According to Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb, the clearing right now is just for wetlands mitigation.
A sign near the entrance of the work zone shows a potential layout of what kind of stores could come to Pooler, but Mayor Lamb explains, the exact plans are still unknown.
"There's nothing that's turned into the city yet. We've probably seen the same things that a lot of other people have seen that might possibly come there, that's possible. Not anything that's been turned into the city," said Mayor Lamb.
Mayor Lamb says the deadline for the wetlands mitigation is May 31. We will keep you updated as we learn more about the future of the 153-acre lot.
