SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah residents now have the option to pay city-issued utility bills online with a credit card.
Customers currently receive one bill every two months for water, sewer and sanitation services. While automatic bank account drafts have been available for a number of years, this will be the first time that online credit card, debit card and eCHECK payments will be received.
"We are very, very excited. We are striving to work on our customer service experience, and making sure we are providing as many options as possible for our customers to make payments. And providing this online has been a very long time coming, but it's been very important to us and I am just excited that they can do that now," said City of Savannah Revenue Director Cindy Landolt.
There is a $3.50 transaction fee to use credit and debit cards.
