SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

High school students at Calvary Day School got the chance to learn about different professions at the school's 8th Annual Career Day this Wednesday.

Ninth through twelfth graders had the opportunity to hear about various professions as well as about the education and experience required. They also had the opportunity to get one-on-one time with professionals from over 25 area industries.

"I think it allows them to plan ahead if they are interested in some of the career choices that were offered, or options today. It gives them a chance to start thinking about that. For me, in the class I was in, I kept telling the students this is just a seed. We are planting a seed, and hopefully, they will nourish it and make it grow," said Dr. J.A. Parker-Herriott, Optometrist.

Other speakers included professionals from Georgia Power, West Rehab, John Davis Florist, and Abshire Public Relations, as well as an attorney and several local business owners.
