SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - With the RBC Heritage on-going and the Masters recently wrapped up, it's a busy time on golf courses and a busy time at the doctor's office.
Since so many people are inspired by the tournaments and the spring weather to hit the links, there are more golf related injuries. Local doctors say a bad swing can lead to bad injuries, although most golfing injuries tend to be minor.
"We don't see a lot of major injuries. Most golfing injuries are overuse related and so tendonitis on the inside of the forearm and elbow is pretty common and back injuries are pretty common," said Memorial Health Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Dow Hoffman.
To minimize your chances of getting hurt, Dr. Hoffman recommends golf lessons and always warming up before playing.
