SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - "The After Matthew." That's the theme of this year's Chatham County Hurricane Conference.
The event was hosted by Chatham Emergency Management Agency at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.
Invited out to share knowledge is local and state emergency managers, as well as their partners.
We caught up with Tybee Island's Fire chief about the significance of this year's event.
"I think everyone woke up after Matthew. Our luck ran out and we got hit by a storm, especially with that Category 1 out at Tybee. It's a good chance to pick everyone's brains here and see what you can do better," said Tybee Fire Chief Ashley Fields.
WTOC John Wetherbee was a speaker at Tuesday's conference.
