JASPER CO., SC (WTOC) -

Sun City volunteers unveiled the newest “Little Free Library” additions for Jasper County.

Little Free Library builds and places weatherproof boxes to be used for the free exchange of books. Citizens are encouraged to "take a book, return a book," all in an effort to build communities, spark creativity and inspire readers. Citizens can spot a box, take a book, return it and donate their own, but the main goal is to keep the reading going.

Six new locations were unveiled on Wednesday in Jasper County.

In Chatham County, there is a Little Free Library inside the community garden in the Victory Heights neighborhood at 2309 Margaret Street. Community members tell us they just received a huge donation of comic books from Savannah Comics & More. This Little Free Library is surrounded by a dozen public school bus stops so it serves tons of school age children each day.

There is also Little Free Libraries inside other community gardens in Savannah like Midtown Miracle Community Garden at 31 East 64th Street, OccuGardens at 114 East 39th Street, and MetroStar Community Garden at 107 West 38th Street.

Little Free Library boxes can be found at locations throughout the country. For a list of all the Little Free Library locations in and around our area, click here
