BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

You couldn't ask for a better night and a better weekend to be outside, especially for something as fun as a rodeo.

The Statesboro Kiwanis Club Rodeo has turned into a big event in the past seven years. It's a spring tradition that brings fans from across our area and features stars from around the country.

Cowboys from the International Professional Rodeo Association will spend the weekend there doing what they love - roping, riding, and entertaining the fans. The local Kiwanis Club started this as an exciting way to raise money to help charities all over town. This week also brings one of rodeo's biggest ambassadors to town as well to meet people all week and bring them out to show their support.

"One thing I've seen is how everybody seems to pull together to support the rodeo. That's something important for it to thrive," said Brittany Howard, Miss Rodeo, USA 2017.

"We use the money raised to support a number of important charities in town. Many of them focus on children," said Bill Anderson, Statesboro Kiwanis Club.

Last year, fans didn't mind sitting through the rainy weather, but this year, it should be perfect outside. The ceremonial events will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday and the rodeo will start at 7:30 p.m. They'll be there Saturday evening as well.
